Ilulissat Greenland Fire Department

Other fire departments we have visited.

When we visited Ilulissat we decided to try to find their fire department.
This looked likely.


Here is a closeup of the emblem on the station.
The first word across the top is the name of the municipality.
Across the bottom it says Municipal Rescue Services (fire brigades)and Emergency Management Agency
I haven't discovered the meaning of the other two.


I walked up to knock to see if anyone was there.
Unfortunately no one was so we didn't see inside.


The command vehicle was parked outside.


A little later we happened to see this Tanker/Pumper at a water fill station.


When we went to investigate we met these two firefighters.


They were friendly but we didn't have any language in common so chatting was very limited.


Even so we enjoyed meeting them.
  

As we were about to board our tender to go back to the ship we saw the truck being filled.
